Music and more

view from our porch

Being home, visiting people, shopping, it's all part of spring vacation and I love it! I'm really glad to have this time to just relax. I'm listening to Josh Groban's music on aol.com and watching the clips he has on there. I really like his voice. Compared to a lot of popular artists he has a much better voice. I'm really not too fond of like the teen pop artists and stuff but his stuff is nice.

Also I've been learning some new Portuguese songs to put on my album. Last night we got one of the songs back from our producer. It sounds like he did a wonderful job. It's called "Dearest Lord You've Called Us Here" by Howard Higashi. So far it looks like we have recorded between 12 to 16 songs and still going strong.

Okay enough about music. :-) I LOVE music!! Can you tell?! Today Melinda visited and we had a great time talking and catching up. I finished sewing the curtains for our patio doors while I was talking to her. I'm not quite sure I like them yet though as they looked a little like sheets but if my parents like them I guess I shouldn't care either. I might add a little ruffle on the top as they're pretty plain.
I'm gonna run but here's a pic....

March Feast

Well as the title says it's the middle of the March Feast (Passover). This is the first one I've been here for and I'm enjoying it. The meetings are very rich and I only wish that I could retain more of what I learn during them. :-) We had a lot of people here over the weekend and now people are starting to go home since many I'm sure have work and such to attend to.
In my spare time, which isn't all that much to tell you the truth, I've been reading A Gown in Spanish Lace by Janette Oke. So far it's entertaining and yes, a fluff book. LOL
Anyways after the Feast which ends Thursday afternoon sometime I'll be going home for spring break. Yippie!!! I've got a sort of mental list of things I want to get done while home including buy material for Aunty's quilt, visit some friends, and do some relaxing.
Next time I'll be writing it will probably be from the comfort of my own livingroom, yes! Okay, that's all I'm going to say for now. The end

Thursday

I've got to eventually get better titles for my blogs....anyways I only have 15 min until time to sign off and go to the main house but yeah. Today we had some really great meetings. I really enjoyed the one Gerry gave this morning about the blood of Christ and what it does for us. We each read a verse and then gave a word for what the blood does like redeems, purifies, cleanses, etc. then Megan wrote it down on the white board for us. It was great to have it all in 'black and white' like that and made it almost more tangible in a sense.

Anyways I'm trying to figure out what to write for the 3 page essay we're supposed to do by Wednesday. It's about Jeremiah and Ezekial's commitment to proclaiming the message they were given and what they had to go through plus some other details. Thankfully I'm not too stressed out about it like I am sometimes about essays but still I've got to crack down and start thinking about how to prepare for it.

Okay....what else....the front hall is done being painted. Praise God!! It looks really nice!! I wasn't too keen on the color they picked but now I'm rather partial to it. :-)

I'd better run now....until next time.

another day

I was going to post the other day when I got online but ended up writing to Uncle Rob instead. So far so good on the road to recovery. I'm eating normal, just as long as I'm careful with the back of my mouth not to chew near where the gum was pulled away to extract my teeth.
Last night we watched Facing the Giants. It was pretty good for a low budget film and I almost cried at the end of it. Right now I'm at home for the day but actually before I go back to Fairwood we've got to visit the recording studio. It will be a busy day but at least I'm home for a few hours before I've got to leave.
