Both of which are true in my case. Anyways life is going by seemingly fast recently. I've been taking classes with Liberty University for the past 8 weeks, so that's been fun. The classes were English 101 and Philosophy 104. I think I did better in Philosophy but the end grades didn't show up yet. I'll find out in about a week or so.
Anyways tonight I made an amazing dinner for my family with Rebekah. It was balsamic chicken, cheese bread, rice, and carrots. I had been feeling the urge to cook for a while but hadn't had the opportunity since I was so busy with juggling homework and work at JoAnn's. Today I got my fill though with baking in the morning and dinner prep tonight. I think now I'll actually start sewing! I need to get a dress made for Rebekah. We got some free material from a lady who comes into JoAnn's sometimes. She brought a bin of fabric and other oldish sewing stuff so I took along 2 bags for the girls to sort through. Rebekah found some nice material so I'll be working on her dress this week while I have time off of school.
Well now I'm going...
and will be back...
someday...

the good news choir

perty cool

been good

That's it! Life is good, beautiful etc. We're up at Diane's right now getting ready to watch High School Musical 2. I also have my laptop up here so I can get some homework done.
Yesterday I visited home and took pics of the trees covered in ice. It's really pretty but I know it's not very good for the trees. Papa and I are working on some songs to record in the studio. Today when the family came for church he and I got to sit down for a while and practice. I was kind of disappointed cause we were going to record but since I have a cold, my voice was about an octive lower than usual. LOL
Okay well I've got to look some things up online for class tomorrow.

Thanksgiving Season!!!

I'm so happy!! We had such a nice Thanksgiving here at home with some relatives. I was really looking forward to the day the closer it got and it definitely wasn't a disappointment, except for the fact that it's over now. :-) I even put a few candles around the house and Rebekah made wassel which always gives the atmosphere a nice homey smell, besides all the rich food!! God is so good to us, I just praise Him for how gracious He always is to provide for us from one day to the next and year after year. What an awesome Lord we serve!
Tonight is the end of my very full and enjoyable break. Settling back into the ruitine back at school may take a little getting used to since I've been home for almost a week. Although, it won't be nearly as hard as it will be though after Christmas break. Oh boy!! We've got a whole three weeks or so off. Anyways I'm driving back to Fairwood in my truck since Aunty Kathy brought it back up from NJ with her on Thanksgiving.
During this break I've been working on my presentation for the desert banquet which I actually should be working on right now. :-) Anways I put pictures and words to an instrumental version of "Joy to the World" . I used Windows Movie Maker and am very pleased with the way it turned out! Now I still have to fill up 2 or 3 minutes though as it has to be 5 minutes long.
Okay well I'd better run!
Rachel

I'm back!!!

Did anyone miss me?LOL I know I've been really bad at blogging lately. Anyways I'm all settled in at Fairwood for my second year of Bible School. I still haven't quite come to grips with the fact that yes indeed I am a second year student and now there are first year students in whose class I am not in. (I hope I worded that correctly.) Anyways I'm actually quite happy with the way my room is arranged and all as Megan was kind enough to rearrange it for me when we went out sailing two Saturdays ago. It has a nice comfy chair in it now and the way the furniture is arranged it just feels more homey now. I don't know why I got into that but yes I'm feeling very content to be back and hopefully becoming a better Bible scholar every day. :-)
The weather up here is simply lovely. I don't remember in recent years the weather being so mild in October although I may be wrong. All the trees are turning as well which makes a very pretty picture. Actually I got to enjoy the colors on a larger scale as we climbed Mt Monadnock on Tuesday afternoon and I got to take some pictures from the top of the mountain. I'll have to upload some of them onto my blog sometime.
Oh yes, I did end up getting the truck I told you all about. Although now I'm having second thoughts about it. I'm actually thinking of bringing it home and leaving it there for my dad. I think it would be better for me to have a small economy car that's not very expensive and is good on gas especially since I don't have much time to use the truck anyways it's just a huge piece of equipment being left to rust. Maybe Papa can help me figure out my dilema and maybe take the truck off my hands.
Okay well I'm going to sign off now I hope that satisfies some of your curiosity of what all I've been up to. LOL

flyin' by

This summer seems to be just going by way too fast. Before I know it I'll be heading back to Bible School and I don't even feel like I've had a summer yet. That might be partly because I've been working three days a week and the other days I'm catching up on things at home. I've really enjoyed my job at the daycare though. The kids are very friendly and obedient (most of the time).
Papa and I looked at a Chevy truck last night down in MA. It's in mint condition and the guy who owns it has cared for it meticulously. All the running gear is in awesome shape. It does have around 100 thousand miles on it but is probably only half through it's life. I think I'm going to get it. I've worn myself out trying to find a bargain car but all the ones I've seen need so much work it's not even worth it. This truck will serve me well and I won't have fix anything before getting it on the road. Bless God this is such an answer to prayer!!!
Well I have to run....
Hopefully I'll keep up better on my blogging now but no guarantees. :-)

licence!!!

I know it's kind of late but I haven't been online much....I did it though! Got my licence that is. It was two weeks on Wednesday. A few days later when I was up at Fairwood for the Youth Convention Papa brought up the truck for me. That was super nice as it was my first longer trip without another adult in the car.

Since then I've made some trips mostly errands for Mama. I also worked at the bakery once last week which put another 70 miles under my belt. :-) I was actually surprised that it was that far but anyways it was worth it since I stocked the store up with baked goods. They still don't need anything in the freezer probably until next week but it's been nice to have that to work on.

Also some very super exciting news....like all the other news of course. :-) I'm going to a retreat next month for three days. I can't wait! Many of my Brazilian friends should be there so it'll definitely be nice spending some time with all of them.

Other than that today Jussara's been helping me with some landscaping and there's lots more to do!! Well I need to run...

so much!

There's so much to tell! I've put it off so long already...blogging that is. I come on here like every day just to look around but rarely actually sit down to actually BLOG. LOL
Anyways we just said bye to Aunty Kathy who visited us since last night. We had a great time with her just being around and talking late into the night. Too bad she couldn't have stayed longer. She's the greatest.
Okay other than that I turned 18 as everyone well knows. ;-) Papa bought me the Lord of the Rings series so we got to watch that this past week. Lets see what else....oh yeah, Aunty just signed me up for Arbonne. Now I'm offically a consultant. Now we just hope I get some business.
So anyways I'm also studying in my immense (not) free time for getting my license. It's kinda hard just to take the time to sit down and STUDY! Oh well, if I wanna get it by the start up of Bible school I should start really putting some effort into it. :-)
Next subject...I'm making this all very brief cause I hate going into vast detail. Yesterday I finished a play dress I made for Janaina. She really does love it! Today she begged me to let her ride a bike with it on and was quite dissapointed when I said it might rip if she got it stuck in the wheel. She went and got changed reluctantly but still, I'm glad she enjoys it so much.
I still have a lot of other sewing I must do before too long. All the girls grow out of things so fast it's hard to keep up!!
Okay what else....mmmmm.....The gardens growing like crazy out there. I go out there to help almost every day with weeds and such. It's so lush and green!! Especially after a good hard rain like we had yesterday. :-)
Well I hear the great outdoors calling for me.
I must shut down.
:-)

home again

Well, yesterday was my last day of summer work. I moved everything out of my room at FBI and home again successfully. Now all I have to do is put everything in it's proper place. That should take a while! Last night I spent like 2 hrs. trying to get my bedroom here back into shape but there's still much to be done. Most of the problem is that now that I took everything out that I needed some of the stuff needs a new place to go. Actually some of it's just a matter of organization and since I have less closet/drawer space here I'm needing to use some bins for my winter clothes and such.

Mama went for her appointment today and the doctor says everything looks fine. Bless God!! We've been praying for her for a while just hoping she'd be okay and sure enough thus far it looks good.

I got to babysit the children this morning which went fine as I had them do some constructive things otherwise who knows what would've happened. :-) We ate a picnic lunch out on the lawn then when Mama and Papa came back everyone just played outside and kept each other busy.

Monday's the BIG day!! Yup, I'm turning 18! I don't know if I should've put an exclaimation mark there though. LOL Sometimes I wonder if that age will really be as great as it seems with becoming a legal adult and getting my licence etc. I'm just hoping for the best, I guess.

  That's all for now!!

nails and boards

Well, that's what we've been dealing with all day as we've been pulling up tiles in the back hall. Then tomorrow we'll deal with the back porch hall. Once it's all finished we'll order the tiles and have them put in. Summer work is a bit harder than I expected, actually I wasn't really trying to imagine how it would be, so anyways. :-) It's better than being all alone! We work from 8 til 5 with an hour break most days.
There are only 5 of us students doing summer work now so there's not as much activity as usual, which is fine. Actually tonight I'm home with the family as it's Sarah's 13th birthday. We had a little celebration and now we're watching an oldie called Friendly Persuasion.
Okay well that's all for now. I'll write again soon hopefully.

Bible School's done!

Well, last night we had the commencement for this year of Bible School. I can't believe that it's already over! Our only graduate of the year, Clyde gave a short speech and recieved his diploma. It was really exciting and I almost cried but held back my tears. (The girls told me that I could let my emotions show my third year. )

We had refreshments in the Main House then I packed the van and we all drove home. I still have to show my mom our yearbook and kind of give her a brief overview of it. The girls did an excellent job putting it all together. I'm kind of hoping that I don't have to do them next year as usually it's the second years that make them. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I'm home for the weekend now but will be returning to FBI and work for 4 weeks starting on Monday. So far it looks like there will be four of us girls there for at least part of the time. We'll probably have plenty of fun together in our free time, knowing the way we are together!

Anyways it's good to be done Bible School for the summer and Lord willing I'll return in the fall.

I know this is kind of a short post but I need to take a rest. I didn't get to sleep til midnight as I was so wound up after all the excitement.

Here's a pic of all of us taken on class trip:

                                                 top: Dave, Vanlora, Kate

middle: Rachel (me), Katherine, Bria, Clyde, Josh, Andrew, Kate

                                                 front: Megan

So that's all of us. It was a really good relaxing time. We got to stay in RI at the Brown's house, actually we girls stayed in the little house of theirs down the road. On the afternoon of the first day we played sports and came back for dinner. It was great to just be outside in the sun playing soft ball, then basket ball and finally to wrap it up we played a few games of volley ball.

On the second day we left @ 9 AM for Boston where some of us took the Freedom trail while others went to the Museum of Science, and some went to Quincy Market. Although the walk seemed long and I started having some pains in my knee it was worth the trip! At the end of our journey we went on the top deck of the USS Constitution then toured the Cassen Young. I took a total of 530 pictures and hopefully will post some on here once I get them onto my laptop.

Okay then yesterday, our last day we went to Newport RI for the day and split up so some went shopping and the others did the cliff walk. I chose the cliff walk but was kind of dissapointed since it was only 2/3 of a mile walk and we had like 2 hours + to do it in. Oh well, we walked the beach some afterwards then got picked up and shopped for a few minutes...literally a few minutes :-)

That was a very short summary of what we did cause I've gotta run.

Okay that's all for now.

Easter Tomorrow!

It seems that time has gone by so fast. It's already the season of our Lord's Ressurection. Tomorrow for church we're visting the Slavic Baptist Church in Londonderry then heading over to Uncle Bob's for a meeting at his house. All of our relatives from my dad's side will be there. I'm really excited since I haven't seen them in a while.
This week we began a new class at Bible School about the minor prophets Zechariah and Haggia. We first years are the ones doing this class while the second years are doing Kingdom History. On Tuesday I have a presentation to give about Zechariah 13. I'm not sure what my approach will be yet but I'm sure it'll come to me soon enough.
Well that's all for now, there are a few more things I need to do on my computer then maybe go outside to enjoy the afternoon since I'm home.

Music and more

                                                                   view from our porch

Being home, visiting people, shopping, it's all part of spring vacation and I love it! I'm really glad to have this time to just relax. I'm listening to Josh Groban's music on aol.com and watching the clips he has on there. I really like his voice. Compared to a lot of popular artists he has a much better voice. I'm really not too fond of like the teen pop artists and stuff but his stuff is nice.

Also I've been learning some new Portuguese songs to put on my album. Last night we got one of the songs back from our producer. It sounds like he did a wonderful job. It's called "Dearest Lord You've Called Us Here" by Howard Higashi. So far it looks like we have recorded between 12 to 16 songs and still going strong.

Okay enough about music. :-) I LOVE music!! Can you tell?! Today Melinda visited and we had a great time talking and catching up. I finished sewing the curtains for our patio doors while I was talking to her. I'm not quite sure I like them yet though as they looked a little like sheets but if my parents like them I guess I shouldn't care either. I might add a little ruffle on the top as they're pretty plain.

             I'm gonna run but here's a pic....

Me and my little friend Naomi

March Feast

Well as the title says it's the middle of the March Feast (Passover). This is the first one I've been here for and I'm enjoying it. The meetings are very rich and I only wish that I could retain more of what I learn during them. :-) We had a lot of people here over the weekend and now people are starting to go home since many I'm sure have work and such to attend to.
In my spare time, which isn't all that much to tell you the truth, I've been reading A Gown in Spanish Lace by Janette Oke. So far it's entertaining and yes, a fluff book. LOL
Anyways after the Feast which ends Thursday afternoon sometime I'll be going home for spring break. Yippie!!! I've got a sort of mental list of things I want to get done while home including buy material for Aunty's quilt, visit some friends, and do some relaxing.
Next time I'll be writing it will probably be from the comfort of my own livingroom, yes! Okay, that's all I'm going to say for now. The end

Thursday

I've got to eventually get better titles for my blogs....anyways I only have 15 min until time to sign off and go to the main house but yeah. Today we had some really great meetings. I really enjoyed the one Gerry gave this morning about the blood of Christ and what it does for us. We each read a verse and then gave a word for what the blood does like redeems, purifies, cleanses, etc. then Megan wrote it down on the white board for us. It was great to have it all in 'black and white' like that and made it almost more tangible in a sense.

Anyways I'm trying to figure out what to write for the 3 page essay we're supposed to do by Wednesday. It's about Jeremiah and Ezekial's commitment to proclaiming the message they were given and what they had to go through plus some other details. Thankfully I'm not too stressed out about it like I am sometimes about essays but still I've got to crack down and start thinking about how to prepare for it.

Okay....what else....the front hall is done being painted. Praise God!! It looks really nice!! I wasn't too keen on the color they picked but now I'm rather partial to it. :-)

I'd better run now....until next time.

another day

I was going to post the other day when I got online but ended up writing to Uncle Rob instead. So far so good on the road to recovery. I'm eating normal, just as long as I'm careful with the back of my mouth not to chew near where the gum was pulled away to extract my teeth.
Last night we watched Facing the Giants. It was pretty good for a low budget film and I almost cried at the end of it. Right now I'm at home for the day but actually before I go back to Fairwood we've got to visit the recording studio. It will be a busy day but at least I'm home for a few hours before I've got to leave.

this day

Well this is the first post I'm making here. Yesterday I got all my wisdom teeth pulled out. It seemed really quick as they gave me general anestisia (sp?) and when I woke up it was all done. Other than that I'm studying for a huge test and hopefully it'll go okay. Sometimes because of the medication they gave me I feel dizzy so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to study without feeling sick. I'm keeping this short as I need to rest now. I'm hoping to find a lot of people here that I know so if you know me please say hi!!
